Must have 10/15 years’ experience troubleshooting, programming, setting up CNC milling machines:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and directs the production activities for the Milling department
  • Direct responsibility for the safety of all personnel reporting to him
  • Ensures that production schedules are met
  • Reviews established procedures/methods and implements/recommends changes to ensure efficiency, on-time production and quality of product  
  • Ensures that all practices/policies/procedures are adhered to by direct reports
  • Provides required training of direct reports; promotes a team oriented work environment and strives for continuous cost, quality and on-time performance
  • Responsible for ongoing continuous improvement and lean implementation to improve cycle times, flow and reduce set-up time
  • Responsible for insuring that equipment preventive maintenance is adhered to
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned

Knowledge and Skill Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing and production environment; particularly in CNC and conventional machining
  • Proficient verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems and Computerized Numerical Control programming
  • Knowledge of  Set-up Reduction Tools such as SMED and JIT, One-Piece Flow and Cellular manufacturing concepts and Lean Methodology
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA/CAL OSHA requirements
